Third Ear is a trio of music professionals with extensive experience, expertise and networks across the new music scene. The Partners comprise Julia Haferkorn, Kate Halsall and Ed McKeon.

We produce music and mixed media events and tours of the highest quality and provide guidance and support to other music professionals on a consultancy basis. We bring together new music professionals in the UK, Europe and other parts of the world by setting up collaborations and by providing a platform for discussion through regularly hosted conferences.

We aim to explore new directions in performance and collaborative projects and to explore and develop new ways of presenting, programming and producing multi-disciplinary events.

The third ear can be the body which 'feels' vibrations, in addition to our ears and the mind, without which listening wouldn't be viable. With the ear's synonyms of 'appreciation', 'discrimination' and 'taste', the third ear can also refer to those ideas we take for granted when we listen. In creating 3rd Ear, we want to champion musical performances that surprise, provoke, and thrill.

We understand the imagination, discipline and 'letting go' that comes with making new music, and we value the work that composers and performers do. We appreciate the risks that audiences take with unfamiliar music, and aim to make the experience rewarding and memorable. In our hyperactive culture, we believe in the unique possibilities within live music, AND its potential to unsettle and to transform.
