Pandamonium 2

Composer, performer and artist Jennifer Walshe will create a new work for a special event, Pandamonium 2, marking the 50th anniversary of the World Wildlife Fund, the world's leading conservation organisation. The project, devised and led by Artwise Curators, will be held in mid-February at Philips de Pury, the contemporary art auctioneers, as part of London Fashion Week.

Jennifer Walshe studied composition at the RSAMD, with Kevin Volans, and at Northwestern University. She immediately gained wide attention, as Fellow of Akademie Schloss Solitude (Stuttgart), guest of the DAAD programme (Berlin), and composer-in-residence for ‘In Context 3’ (South Dublin County).

Walshe’s work has been performed worldwide by leading ensembles, from Ensemble Resonanz and Apartment House, to the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, Black Hair and the Bozzini Quartet. She has received commissions from organizations including RTÉ, Darmstadt, hcmf, Maerzmusik, Wien Modern, Ars Musica (Brussels), and Project Arts Centre (New York), and has performed her work at Donaueschingen, Ultraschall, Lucerne Festival, SoundField (Chicago), Performa (New York), Stockholm New Music and many others.

Recent projects of note include Grúpat, in which she assumed nine different alter egos through whom she created compositions, installations, graphic scores, films, photography, sculptures and fashion. These have been performed and exhibited worldwide, notably at the Dublin Electronic Arts Festival; the Museum of Arts & Design (New York), New Langton Arts (San Francisco), Contemporary Arts Museum (Houston), Ultrasound (Tel Aviv), and Rümlingen (Switzerland).

Walshe lives in London, where she is Reader in Arts in the Music Department at Brunel University

The event is produced by Third Ear in partnership with Artwise Curators who are producing the project for the World Wildlife Fund.

The project is supported by PRS for Music Foundation's Women Make Music award.
